O’s Notes: Bob presents a pleasant session laced with warm brass leads from Lew Soloff (t) and Frank Wess (sax) as well as violinist Diane Delin. George Mraz (b) and Ed Thigpen (d) anchor the bottom. Bob does a great job tickling the ivories as well. The opener “Wake Robin” features a round of solos from most of the band. But it is the mellow sound of Lew’s trumpet on tunes like “Watch What Happens” with its bossa nova beat that make this CD come alive.
