O’s Notes: Chantale is a fresh new voice on the New York jazz scene, a vibrant pianist and composer. She invites seasoned veterans Lewis Nash (d), Peter Washington (b) and Steve Wilson (sax) to join her and that unit is extremely tight. Ten of the eleven songs are new original compositions by Gagné but they feel seasoned already. The ballads are soothing and the burners swing making The Left Side of The Moon a winning effort.
