O’s Notes: The spirit of the music is as jovial as the spirit of the title. Trombonist Gerald Kuhn leads this brass band through eight classics like Hancock’s “Watermellon Man” and seven of his own songs. It’s mainly upbeat and swinging with some nice vocals from Kayre Morrison. But they also shine on the relaxers like “Close” with soothing melodies from Harry Smallenburg on vibes. It’s a nice set.
