O’s Notes: Katz composed, conducted, produced and arranged The Same Thing, a rather eclectic collection of musical and vocal fusion. Paula Tetarunis wrote the text for three tracks, a rather poetic set of verses vocalized by Rebecca Shrimpton. The music comes from the Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra on the first 5 songs with JCA Winds performing the finale “Lemmings”. “Everybody Loves Ray Charles” is an instrumental dedication capturing his spirit, our favorite of the set
