O’s Notes: Ed is crooning in front of the Peck Allmond Sextet. He has a lush and soulful baritone voice that is soothing and loaded with character. This is his sophomore album coming after the debut in 2007 and he is 78! But we attest that Ed’s voice is like a highly rated bottle of wine. There are some great solos from the band along the way and Reed shares the stage appropriately. Allmond’s (sax, fl, cl) band is: Russell George (violin), Jamie Fox (g), Gary Fisher (p), Doug Weiss (b) and Willard Dyson (d). There are thirteen classics here – sit back and enjoy them.
