O’s Notes: Kate has a unique vocal style. She is very expressive and puts her signature on each of these dozen classics transforming them into a cool jazz-fusion. Keith Ganz (g), Gary Vesace (organ, p, accordion), Reuben Rogers (b) and Greg Hutchinson (d) form a strong unit behind her with Donny McCaslin adding sax on three tracks. We really liked “It Might As Well Be Spring”, “Do Something” and “Nobody Else But Me”. The recording quality was excellent adding to our enjoyment.
