O’s Notes: Bassist Marty Isenberg was fascinated by the films of Wes Anderson during his adolescent years. He parlays that inspiration into a reflection of his youth, a collage of musical expressions for his debut recording as a leader, The Way I Feel Inside. Sami Stevens sings the title track with fine solos from Isenberg and Rich Perry (sax). The program is mostly pop based with elements of, fusion, and modern jazz sprinkled in. We also liked “Cello Song” and “These Days”.
