O’s Notes: Professor Tom Johnson is a psychologist teaches at Indiana State University, but Time Takes Odd Turns! The pandemic inspired Johnson to bring his dreams of a musical career into the forefront! After years of dabbling, he assembled a large ensemble with ISU students, alumni and local musicians to play his compositions. Tom also plays keyboards, percussion and valve trombone. The music ranges from 1980’s-inspired trio of songs notably “Lucky 13” with a Moog synthesizer, “Cats and Mouses” (aka Tom and Jerry), to the “Bossa Monday Suite”! Johnson shows us that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.
