O’s Notes: Adam plays the B3 and leads two band configurations on his latest release.“Two Sides of The Organ Combo“is successful because Schwartz encourages strong performances from all of his musicians. Side A is the smooth side with some blues, upbeat burners and a taste of pop with Bryan Carrot (vibes) and Mike Lee (sax). Side B is all about groove starting with “Variations On Freedom Jazz Dance” and “Funky Tentacles” featuring Marcus Printup (t) and Anthony Ware (sax). Andrew Atkinson plays drums on both sides. The arrangement of “Summertime” is excellent and guitarist Charlie Sigler shines on “Joyous Sermon” to cap off a cool set!
