O’s Notes: Vocalist Ermelinda Cuellar was born in Texas to Peruvian parents and has established herself in the Houston area. What A Difference A Day Made is her first widely released album showcasing her powerful, deep voice with rich tones. Ermelinda’s voice is warm and inviting whether she’s singing or scatting, in English or in Spanish. Trombonist Andre Hayward adds a sweet, complimentary solo on “Man With A Horn” opening a wonderful session. Other highlights are “Alone Together”, “Sabor A Mi”, “Midnight Sun” and “Who’s Crying Now”.
