O’s Notes: Ranee Lee is a veteran jazz and R&B singer. She is soulful and uses dynamics to effectively convey her emotions. Some of the arrangements are liberal extensions of the originals as on the title track. The improvisations are on point with complimentary lush accents from Birds On A Wire String Quartet. We liked “Where Do You Start” and “Lazy Afternoon” best in the set of ten warm ballads. There’s no hurry, sit back and enjoy.
