O’s Notes: Jason is doing a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s classics. The words seem to continue to be appropriate yesterday, today and tomorrow. So these rearranged songs are ripe for a refresher. Miles’ approach is gentle starting with “What’s Going On?” featuring Mike Mattison handling the vocals. Chiara Civello takes the mike for “I Want You” giving it a female’s touch! There are also instrumental takes like “Let’s Get It On” and “Trouble Man” with Herb Alpert (t) and Dominick Farinacci (flugelhorn) respectively.
