O’s Notes: Maddie Vogler is a Chicago-based alto saxophonist who pairs with Tito Carrillo for rich brass harmonies on While We Have Time. They get support from a tight rhythm section consisting of Matt Gold (g), Jake Shapiro (p), Samuel Peters (b), and Neil Hemphill (d). The nine original compositions are just right, so much so that we were inclined to listen repeatedly before starting to write our notes. Maddie is an under-the-radar force to being considered!
