O’s Notes: Norwegian folk singer Sinikka Lageland plays traditional instrumental and performs in a quintet on Wind And Sun. She composed the music to the poems of Jon Fosse, one of Norway’s most important contemporary authors. There’s a gentle bossa nova on “The Love”, tranquility on “A Child Who Exists” featuring Trygve Siem (s-sax, and a grand allure of mystery and adventure on the title track. Lageland’s vocals impart a sense of warmth and comfort in her native tongue along with the warm brass tones from trumpeter Mathias Eick.
