O’s Notes: The group known as the Ot Azoj Klezmerband features vocalist Natalia Rogalski. She sings with bright spirit in several different languages. Klezmer music goes way back in Eastern European history. It was played at celebrations, especially Jewish weddings. The music disappeared with the demise of the Jews during the Nazi Regime. But many of the Russian immigrants brought the Klezmer music to America where it has evolved as played on this CD. The music is powerful and celebratory expressing the proud energy of musicians who love this style.
