O’s Notes: Michael Benedict intermingles his vibes with David Gleason’s piano on the opener “Captain HooK”, one of two selections composed by flautist Patricia Julien. They are backed by a solid rhythm section anchored by bassist Mike Lawrence, percussionist Brian Melick and drummer Pete Sweeney. We liked the mellow, reggae beats on “Herbie” one of two songs composed by Gleason, featuring Julien. We also enjoyed the bossa nova groove of “Noite Triste” and Benedict’s swinging “1-2-3 GO!”
