O’s Notes: This duo consists of Brazilian bassist Nilson Matta and leader, guitarist Joe Carter. Like many jazz musicians, Joe became fascinated with the sounds of Brazil after visiting and performing in Rio during 1988. He has since recorded a couple of albums with Latin rhythms. Nilsen and Joe have played together a lot. That familiarity allows for daring moves that come off well. 2 For 2 includes both Brazilian classics and originals. They come together nicely in what is a peaceful, relaxing set.
