O’s Notes: Dennis plays trumpet, cornet, and percussion and leads his band through ten free jazz compositions. Aaron Gonzalez (b), Stephan Gonzalez (d), Tim Green (sax) and Famousoi Don Moye (d) join him. The music is open, creative and rich with percussion. “Mayombé” is a prime example and one of the best selections. We also liked the mysterious vibe of “Zarabanda” and the festive beats of “Sangarédi”.
