O’s Notes: This self-titled recording is a duo performance with pianist Frank Kimbrough and headliner, vocalist Alexis Parsons. The program consists of eight newly arranged standards. Parson’s vocal tone is dark and balanced by the upbeat barroom style of Kimbrough. They are a good pair, shining on “Lazy Afternoon” and the soft, inviting “You Must Believe In Spring”.
