O’s Notes: Quartet San Francisco is Jeremy Cohen, Matthew Szemela and Chad Kaltinger on violin with Kelley Maulbetsch (cello). They marry elements of jazz with a typically classical ensemble. Gordon Goodwin, Vince Mendoza, Patrick Williams and Jeremy Cohen compose the music for Pacific Premiers. The groove alternates between jazz and classical, at times reminding us of older cartoons! It is a swinging good time with mixed tempos and moods that make for a vibrant set.
