O’s Notes: Slivovitz is a 7-piece progressive rock band. Derek Si Perri (harmonica), Salvatore Rainone (d), Ciro Riccardi (t), Riccardo Villari (violin), Pietro Santangelo (sax), Vincenzo Lamagna (b) and Marcello Giannini (g) are the musicians. Giannini, Santangelo and Riccardi each contribute original compositions to the program, eight syncopated songs that are unique and energetic. The bands name is also a plum brandy that has a rather peculiar flavor. Your first taste is likely to be revolting yet many develop a passion for it over time. The same can be said for this Italian band. We appreciated All You Can Eat much more than our first encounter Bani Ahead in 2011.
