O’s Notes: Nightconcert“is a live concert that is very well received by the audience at The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam during 1964. Eddie Calhoun (b) and Kelly Martin (d) accompany Garner on piano. There are sixteen classic selections that are mostly upbeat but also including a few ballads like “Theme From New Kind Of Love”. The music is vibrant and energizing all the way through as Erroll is captured here tickling the ivory in prime form. He establishes himself as one of the greatest jazz pianists and a fine entertainer.
