O’s Notes: Trombonist, vocalist and composer Emily Asher delivers a good performance on If I Were A Window. Her Garden Party is a strong complimentary band. We enjoyed the vocals on “Tea For Two” featuring Asher in a duet with trumpeter Mike Davis. The music includes oldies from the ragtime era matched with Emily’s originals. Asher’s fresh tone and the sound quality let us know it’s a 2020 recording. Davis is back on the mic with Asher for “Kansas City Kitty”. Both add crisp instrumental solos along with James Chirillo. There’s a head-bobbing swing that makes this set pop.
