O’s Notes: This is funk from one of the architects of the art form, bassist Bootsy Collins. He’s here live in Oklahoma in 1976. This is one of many groups with the Parliament, Funkadelic members including Catfish Collins (g), Fred Wesley (tb), Maceo Parker (sax) and Rick Gardner (t). They were very successful and had a large following. This CD captures a taste of them at peak performance.
