O’s Notes: Santos is undoubtedly one of the most noteworthy Latin jazz composers. His work spans many decades and remains very fresh. The mix of Brazilian rhythms with traditional jazz is a winning formula. It comes together very nicely on songs like “Outra Cosia” and “Flores”. Great music; both mid tempo sambas and ballads with very good musicians including a guest appearance from Wynton Marsalis.
