O’s Notes: Marimba soloist, composer, percussionist, and educator Juan Alamo produced Marimbissimo, an eight-movement suite that is a musical explosion of Latin American rhythms, and jazz! The music has tribal influences on songs like “Tupanachiskama” & “Little Angel”, and swings on “One Of A Kind” & “Encrucijada”. We also enjoyed the groove on “Elegia” and the calypso-laced “Ita’”.
