O’s Notes: Fo/Mo/Deep is Kevin Jones (keyboards), Andre Scott (d), Keith Newton (sax), Kenneth Pouncey (perc) and leader/bassist/producer Ron “FatKat” Holmes. FatKat wrote most of the tines and is the genius behind the groove. They have a buttery, funky, contemporary jazz sound that reminds us if early Incognito recordings. The vibe is contagious and threads through the entire set. We preferred the mid- and up-tempo track to the ballads but there are no losers here.
