O’s Notes: Adam plays baritone sax and leads this quartet with Graham Dechter (g), Jeff Hamilton (d) and John Clayton (b). This is a swinging self-produced debut with Schroeder bringing the Bari to center stage. He shares lead lines with Dechter who sparkles on “Midwest Mash”, one of two Schroeder originals and “Jessica’s Birthday”. Adam puts us in a romantic mood with “Pensive Miss” and “Hidden Within”. We also enjoyed “Just In Time”, the mild samba beats of “Nascimento” and the cooking title track. The band really gels and Schroeder gives us something to look forward to.
