O’s Notes: Singer, songwriter Ellen Edwards returns to her musical passions after raising her children. She enlists producer Jason Miles (vibes, B3, strings) for A New York Session that includes bassist Will Lee, percussionist Richie Morales and Randy Brecker on trumpet. We enjoyed the funky vibe on “The Queens Bridge”. Her rebirth finds her singing from her heart on five original songs over 20 minutes. Really it’s just one set, but it is a cool and enjoyable set.
