O’s Notes: This contemporary jazz powerhouse brings us some Holiday cheer with A Night Before Christmas, a collection of eleven traditional classics. It’s the usual lineup of musicians with Jay Beckenstein (sax), Tom Schuman (p), Julio Fernandez (g) and Scott Ambush (b) with the latest addition Bonny B on drums and vocals. Dave Samuels (vibes) is a welcomed guest artist on “Carol Of The Bells” and “Winter Wonderland”. Our favorites were “Baby It’s Cold Outside” with vocals from Janis Siegel and Bonny B, the swinging “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “The Christmas Song” with Bobby B happily scatting!
