O’s Notes: Les leads a large ensemble that is strong on it’s own and even better when he’s crooning out front. There’s no showboating here, just a celebration of good classic standards from “Sentimental Journey” to “Night and Day”. The instrumentals are vibrant and the stereo imaging a good depiction if the band. Brown’s show band was the test recording case at the Mickey Giley Theater in Branson. To those core tracks they added a few from the studio notably the title track. We also enjoyed “Anything Goes” and “S’wonderful” featuring Jana King Evans (vocals).
