O’s Notes: Jazz pianist Jason Yeager has a passion for music that is deep rooted in his family hence the dedication of this album to his grandmothers, both audiophiles. On Affirmation Yeager forms a trio with bassist Danny Weller and Matt Rousseau on drums. Ten of the dozen selections are originals that have a lighthearted bouncy core. Noah Preminger makes a guest appearance on two selections notably “Smiled First”. We enjoyed many tunes including “Stumblebop”, “Twelve Etude” and “Smiled First” all interesting songs with enough complexity to hold your interest.
