O’s Notes: Mario Adnet and Philippe Baden Powell are two of Brazil’s finest musicians. Philippe is the son of composer and guitarist Baden Powell. Afrosambajazz is a dedication to Baden Powell and Moacir Santos, two legendary Brazilian composers. “Pai” is one of many rich tracks here along with “Berimbau”, “Nhem nhem nhem” and “Lamenti de Ex”. The blend of brass, percussion and samba in a relaxed large ensemble is worked to a high level of satisfaction here!
