O’s Notes: Russian vocalist Masha Campagne was introduced to Brazilian and jazz music by her grandfather Matvey Fayans. She moved to San Francisco 25 years ago where she further honed her passion studying with Marcos Silva. Her voice is beautiful, whether singing in Brazilian Portuguese, English, or simply scatting as on “So Mad So Young”. She pays homage to Brazilian masters while including a couple of originals on Alegre Menina.
