O’s Notes: These guys keep it simple with Joe playing guitar and Cengiz on piano. They play fourteen tunes, eight written by Gaeta, one by Yaltkaya and the balance are standards. Both of them are cooking across the changes of “Very Cold” and they make “Besame Mucho” and “Del Sasser” very entertaining. Both musicians play with jovial tones that spill over to the listener’s delight. They take a breather for “Down Here On The Ground” before Gaeta turns up the heat for “Jingles” and maintains the pace on “Dustin Away”, Yaltkaya’s original. They wrap it up with a beautiful ballad, “Song For Autumn” featuring vocals by Cathy Segal Garcia. This is an engaging and enjoyable set.
