O’s Notes: Guitarist, composer and producer Brian Hughes brings us nine new smooth jazz songs. Tim Landers adds a deep, funky bottom on bass while Chris Botti (t), John Nau (organ) and Eric Marienthal (sax) make guest appearances. They get right down to business with “Picture This” warmed up by Nau’s work on B3. The follow-up: “Crusin’ Route 66” cooks as well along with “Wherever You Are”. Nine songs, nice groove.
