O’s Notes: Guitarist Lee Ritenour teams up with pianist Dave Grusin to play some tango, a taste of opera and a few classic songs. Renee Fleming adds pristine vocals and Joshua Bell plays violin on several tracks. Guest Chris Botti (t) plays on two tracks notably “Rinaldo, Duetto”. We liked “Olha Maria”, “Echos” and “Tango en Parque Central” best. It is not what you’d expect from Lee, Dave or Chris; nor can we say it is a jazz CD, but they do a very good job with the material and we enjoyed the session.
