O’s Notes: Pianist, composer Greg Murphy dedicates You Remind Me to his late wife Nancy, her endless love and smile. Greg invites bassist Obasi Akoto and drummer Steve John’s to help him deliver the celebration of her life. They open with a spirited pace on “After Dark featuring Zack Brock (violin). Greg is swinging on “The Cure” including a rousing solo by Johns. We also enjoyed the retro take of “Nights Over Egypt”, and “Simone” anchored by Akoto. Vocalists Frank Lacy and Malibu Beauvoir add romantic memories on ”You Remind Me” and “A Night To Remember”.
