O’s Notes: Dave is a legendary contemporary jazz pianist who celebrates a fruitful career in this outing conducting The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra. Guest artist Patti Austin adds an entertaining rendition of “Making Whoopie”. Monica Mancini sings “Moon River” and Jon Secada sings a heartfelt “Maria”. We also enjoyed the cool Latin vibe of “Peter Gunn” featuring Gary Burton on vibes. This live recording is a fine addition to the Jazz Roots Series.
