O’s Notes: Anthem is a product of the East West Quintet. They are Dylan Heaney on sax, trumpeter Phil Rodriguez, drummer Jordan Perlson, bassist Benjamin Campbell and Mike Cassedy on keyboards. Their groove is a blend of progressive rock and jazz-fusion. Cassedy wrote five selections and Karfa composed two songs and Heaney added an original making the 8-song session varied and engaging. It is a studio recording originally made in July 2011 and released in 2015. Highlights are “Interstellar”, “Action Figure” and “White Lodge”.
