O’s Notes: Drummer Charles Ruggerio likes his audience to engage in his music. What better way to do so than using music from popular TV shows? It is a familiar basis and an excellent platform to improvise on. As Heard On TV includes music from “Bewitched”, “Law & Order”, “Good Times”, “Moonlighting” and four others. Jeremy Manasia (p) and Mike Karn (b) join Ruggiero to form the rhythm section. Ian Hendrickson-Smith (fl, sax), Alex Norris (t), and Stacey Dillard (sax) provide accents with Laura Mace singing “Leave It To Me” (iCarly). Charles is on point with the material, the arrangements and his thesis. We truly enjoyed it!
