O’s Notes: The Satoko Fujii Orchestra plays free jazz accented with squawking brass. It’s best stated in the liner notes, “[they] bring the heterogeneous, warm-blooded and manual ensemble with the twilling of delicate sound…”. This is a unique colorful Japanese approach. They play with a lot of precision over five well-developed and stimulating compositions.
