O’s Notes: Scott (sax) touches on a number of different jazz grooves for this session. “Blue ‘N’ Boogie” is just as its title suggests while there are a number of swingers like “Fine And Dandy”, ballads like “Lullaby of the Leaves” and even a little bossa nova on “Love Letters”. This quartet contains a lot of punch with first call musicians Peter Washington (b), Kenny Washington (d) and pianist Bill Charlap. They all live up to their reputations.
