O’s Notes: This is a mellow duet featuring trumpeter Chet Baker and vibraphonist Wolfgang Lackerschmid. It is a reissue of 1979’s Ballads For Two. They combine to perform eight selections over 41 minutes. Highlights are “Softly As In A Morning Sunrise”, the well-coordinated exchange on “Double O” and the pacifying finale, “You Don’t Know What Love Is”. It feels good all the way through, perhaps even more so today than when it was originally released.
