O’s Notes: Drummer, composer Wayne Smith, Jr. is a passionate performer who has performed around the world and focused on the I-95 corridor between New York and DC. This effort as a leader is supported by Brent White (tb), Matthew Clayton (a-sax), Ian Macaulay (g) and Madison Rast (g). The theme for Be Still is peace and tranquility, inspired by Wayne’s exposure to the Pacific Coast on I-5. We enjoyed the mellow “Echoes”, “Ephesus”, “I-5” featuring White, and “New Day”.
