O’s Notes: Vocalist Jackie Ryan selects fifteen of the Best of Love Songs from her vast repertoire. She sings “Luiza” in Portuguese, two songs in Spanish and the balance in English. All impart heartfelt passion in front of a solid band including saxophonist Ernie Watts, drummer Jeff Hamilton, and pianists Tamir Hendelman & Larry Vuckovich. Among the best are “Now Or Never” featuring Allen Smith (t), “Let There Be Love” and “You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To”, the latter two featuring saxophonist Red Holloway. This is a relaxing, easy listening set with fresh, embraceable arrangements.
