O’s Notes: Master violinist, composer and leader Jason Kao Hwang leads a trio with guitarist Anders Nilsson and drummer Michael A. Thompson. They are known as Critical Response playing a mix of new jazz-fusion with Avant Garde. They perform five lengthy compositions that trace Hwang’s time and evolution in the artsy lower Manhattan in a Book of Stories. At times it’s a little scary it always entertaining!
