O’s Notes: The Broken Arm Trio is Erik Friedlander (cello), Trevor Dunn (b) and Mike Sarin (d), a rather unusual grouping. It doesn’t take long to get used to hearing Erik and Trevor leading the melodies from the lower registers. They do a fine job as does Sarin. They play bouncy tunes like “Spinning Plates”, a few that take on more of a classical bent and some that are playful like “Jim Zipper”. We liked “Hop Skip”, “Buffalo” and “Cake” on what we found to be a CD wroth listening to again and again!
