O’s Notes: The Coyote Poets are a group that performs spoken word alone and with music. Most of their lyrics have a strong message. The supporting music is a country rock on most of the tunes. “Canonization”, “Surfin @ Stonehenge” and “Yes Or No” are examples. “Russian Percussion” is a cool creative play on words transformed into music, one of the best of the set! “Disturbance” and “Jesus Debbie” are more provocative expressions. “Tender” and “Burnt Down” are blues ballads with more general appeal. CP presents a diverse slate, a different type of entertainment but one that could attract a dedicated following.
