O’s Notes: Celebrando is a Latin celebration that lives up to its billing. Harmonica player Hendrik Meurkens and bassist/vocalist Gabriel Espinosa share lead billing. They get support from well-regarded musicians including Anat Cohen (sax, cl), Jim Seeley (t, flugelhorn) and drummer Antonio Sanchez. Allison Wedding provides rich vocalizations that are soothing especially on “Slow Breeze”. There are lots of bouncy bossa nova tunes and a series of warm ballads. Very well done.
